Plantbeeb and Floramedia Join Forces: QR Code Becomes Available Sector-Wide

Collaboration and Future Vision
To further strengthen the platform and prepare it for the future, Plantbeeb has entered into a strategic partnership with Floramedia, the market leader in plant labels and communication within the ornamental horticulture sector.

Enhancing Knowledge, Network, and Reach
By combining expertise and networks, the quality, visibility, and reach of Plantbeeb will increase significantly. Starting in 2026, Floramedia will introduce Plantbeeb to its customers. They can have the Plantbeeb QR code directly integrated into the design and production of plant labels, pot covers, packaging, or stickers.

Alignment with ‘The Smart QR Code’, powered by GS1
The collaboration aligns perfectly with the project ‘The Smart QR Code’. The Plantbeeb QR code will evolve into the GS1 standard, which will replace the traditional barcode in 2027. The first pilot for this will start in 2026.

Benefits for the Entire Chain
This new QR code offers benefits for the entire supply chain: from growers and retailers to consumers. The smart Plantbeeb QR code makes it possible, for example, to create a unique link between the grower and the consumer. The same QR code can not only be scanned by the consumer but can also be directly connected to retailers’ POS systems.
